The Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles, New York are an exemplary group of individuals who have chosen to serve their church and membership in a caring way. Their personal character is above repute and they lead lives that emulate brotherly and sisterly love to all.

Our deacons are elected for a three year term. During their term our deacons help with many aspects of the service and assist those members and non- members with their physical and spiritual needs not just on Sundays. Our Deacons assist with the set up of the sanctuary, greet worshipers, take collection, and assist with small children during the service.
For those who do not drive, there is a weekly Deacon Driver to furnish rides each Sunday and for many other events. Sometimes when our members are not able to be in their own homes, the Deacons make visits and deliver flowers. The first Sunday of each month as well as during Lent the Deacons assist with the sacrament of communion. Should the need arise the Deacons assist at funerals and deliver meat trays to the families involved.
